¿2 de azúcar o eran 3?

Hola a todos, hoy he ido a visitar a Isabel y Anita al colegio "Rockford Mannor" y ha sido todo un descubrimiento lo que he visto. Después de hablar con la secretaria para que avisara a las niñas por megafonía, Isabel y Ana aparecieron muy sonrientes por el pasillo. Yo me quedé en shock cuando vi a Isabel con delantal y Ana con sus manitas llenas de pintura y dije: "Girls, what´s going on!!!" a lo que ellas riéndose me explicaron que estaban dando clase de "Home economic", algo así como la asignatura de "Hogar" y Anita en "Art and Craft class". Entonces, como tenía mucha curiosidad pedí a la directora del colegio que me dejara asistir a la clase de las niñas y sacarles fotos. La verdad que fue todo un acierto por mi parte ver cómo se desarrollaban estas clases. Ya que este año me toca dar "Art and Craft" y quién sabe si en un futuro también  "Home ecocnomic".

Les cuento, Isabel tenía que hacer unas "Flap jacks", algo así como unas barritas de cereales. La profesora explicó la tarea a las alumnas y luego se pusieron  manos a la obra. Isabel  puso todo de su parte para hacer la receta, lo prometo (ver foto), pero el resultado dejó mucho que desear porque  las barritas eran icomestibles. ¡Sería por la cantidad de azúcar!

Después de la clase de cocina de la señorita Isabel me fui a la clase de Art and Craft donde Ana Díaz desplegaba todo su creatividad. La tarea era hacer un busto o algo así y el resultado fue el siguiente...

Another day in Ireland. Today I cooked pancakes in my Home economics class. There were three people in my group, an Irish girl, a  Philippine and me, each of us had to bring one ingredient, I had to bring the eggs. The mother of the house rolled three eggs in a tissue  paper so they would not break in my school bag. But when we were cooking the teacher forgot to tell us to put the sugar in the mix so they didn't taste good. At school we didn't do anything special. When we were on our way back home, we went to the second floor  of the bus to see everything. At each bus stop there were more and more people so at the end the bus was full. When we arrived at my bus stop I couldn't go downstairs to get off the bus because of the people, when the bus stopped I´m nearly  fell down the stairs, but one Irish girl (who didn't know me) held on me so  I did not  fall. When I got home I went upstairs to do my homework, I did as well some Spanish homework that our English teacher told us to do. When I went downstairs the mother and the two girls had gone,but the father and the boy were there, James( the boy) was playing the X box 360,he was playing a game called "Call of Dutty " which is based on killing people. Later, we watched TV , we had dinner and I wrote  about  my day  to send  to Miss Belinda.

Aquí seguimos, otro día más en Irlanda. Hoy he cocinado en "Home economics" unos pancakes , en mi grupo eramos tres: una irlandesa, una filipina y yo. Cada niña tenia que llevar un ingrediente diferente, yo llevaba los huevos, la madre de la casa fue super linda porque para que no se me estallaran me los envolvió en papel de cocina con varias capas y los metió en un taper para que no estuviesen sueltos por la mochila. Pero cuando estábamos cocinando a la profesora se le olvidó decir que pusiésemos el azúcar en la mezcla y entonces pues no estaban muy buenas. En el colegio no hicimos nada en especial, cuando estábamos de vuelta en la guagua nos subimos en el piso de arriba para ver todas las vistas. En cada parada iba entrando más gente y mas gente hasta que ya casi no cambiamos más. Fue entonces cuando llego mi parada que no podía bajar del piso de arriba, de repente la guagua paro y casi me caigo de boca por las escaleras, pero una niña irlandesa, que no conozco de nada me agarró y conseguí mantener el equilibrio. Cuando llegue a la casa me fui a mi habitación para hacer los deberes, tenia montones, también hice algún deber de España que nos ha puesto nuestra profesora de inglés. Cuando bajé ni la madre ni las niñas estaban, sólo estábamos el padre, el niño y James (el niño pequeño) estaba jugando a la XBox360 a un juego de guerra que se llama "Call of Dutty" que no hace más que matar a montón de gente, luego vimos la tele, cené fish and chips y escribí mi día de hoy.

AMAIZING Pancake Recepie!!

YUMMI YUMMI!!!

Ingredients:

• 3/4 cup milk.
• 2 tablespoons white vinegar.
• 1 cup all-purpose flour.
• 2 tablespoons white sugar.
• 1 teaspoon baking powder.
• 1/2 teaspoon baking soda.
• 1/2 teaspoon salt.
• 1 egg.
• 2 tablespoons butter, melted.
• cooking spray.

Directions:

1. Combine milk with vinegar in a medium bowl and set aside for 5 minutes to "sour".
2. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Whisk egg and butter into "soured" milk. Pour the flour mixture into the wet ingredients and whisk until lumps are gone.
3. Heat a large skillet over medium heat, and coat with cooking spray. Pour 1/4 cupfuls of batter onto the skillet, and cook until bubbles appear on the surface. Flip with a spatula, and cook until browned on the other side.

I stayed at Grandma Stef because it was the fourth anniversary of the death of her Grandfather.There I met some guys who were very kind, their names were Kevin and his Japanese wife, Haromi,who spoke English with Japanese accent and it made me laugh because I dind´t understand what she was saying at all.Later, I had my breakfast that it was delicious; sausages, eggs and cereal with milk. Then we went to Mass and we pried for her grandfather because it was his anniversary. When we finished, we went to the store and my Irish father bought a cake for dessert and ate a lot. It was very delicious!!! yummy yummy. Later we sat together and we watched the final of X factor. It was such a great day.

Hoy Domingo me he quedado en casa de la abuela de Stef , porque era el cuarto aniversario de la muerte de su abuelo.Estuve con los tios que son muy simpaticos, se llaman Kevin y su mujer Haromi ,que es japonesa, y muy simpática.Cuando me levanté, desayuné (salchichas y leche con cereales) . Luego nos arreglamos y fuimos a  la misa por su abuelo, fue muy bonita. Cuando termino compramos una tarta para el postre y comimos muchisimo, estaba muy rica.Me lo pase genial, después tubimos que irnos en dirección a Cabeentily para ir a comprar unas cosas y descansar en casa, a si que llegamos y vimos x factor fue genial.

Pasando el día en el ZOO

Hola bloggeros hoy quiero comentarles cómo ha sido nuestro día en el ZOO, que la verdad no tiene desperdicio.Luego le seguirá un  comentario del mismo hecho por Mariana.

Después de las 2 horas de clase de los sábados en Rosemont, nos subimos en la guagua y pusimos rumbo al City Center para ir al ZOO!! Nada más llegar las niñas corrieron hasta un puesto de venta de peluches y souvenirs y cómo NO!! empezaron a pedir dinero pues querían comprarlos todos !!! pero afortunadamente llegó nuestro turno de entrada y tuvieron que desistir, pero eso sí momentáneamente, pues creo que le dijeron a la vendedora del puesto que les reservaran los peluches!! ¿Ustedes creen? Bueno salvado el primer obstáculo de la tienda, entramos al Zoo donde nos quedamos maravillados con todos los ejemplares de animales que había en esos metros cuadrados (leones marinos, el tigre blanco, jirafas, rinocerontes, monos y más monos, etc.). Tuvimos la oportunidad de ver el show de los leones marinos que fue muy divertido y las niñas disfrutaron mucho.

WAKA WAKA !!

Pero donde más disfrutaron fue en el pabellón africano donde vieron jirafas, leones de la selva, rinocerontes, etc. y una de las alumnas comenzó a cantar el Waka waka, a la que le siguió todo el grupo, fue muy gracioso y la gente se rió un montón. Yo me quería morir de la vergüenza pero finalmente me uní al waka waka también...

¡Qué monas!

Después del show como nos tocaba el "lunch time", bueno aunque aquí nos lo pasamos todo el día comiendo, las niñas empezaron que si un heladito, un perrito caliente, chocolates todas esa cosas etc., me quedé sentada en un resort area y allí tomé esta linda foto de las alumnas.

Por cierto se me olvidaba que al final de la visita las niñas se comprararon como no los monitos que la verdad eran muy monos !!! y nos fuimos a casa.

Today we went to the zoo it was very good because I saw a lot of animals that I haven´t seen before. At first we thought why we were there and not in the city center...but when we started walking and seeing all the animal we said wouw!!!

we saw monkeys, elephants.... my favorite animal was the monkey because they were funny with cool hairstyle. Yeeahh!!

Hoy sábado hemos ido al Zoo. Me ha gustado mucho porque he visto muchos animales que no conocía aún. Al pricipio pensamos que era una tontería ir al zoo y preferiamos ir de compras.... pero cuando empezamos a caminar y a ver los animales dijimos ouhhhhh!!

Vimos jirafas, elefantes, una especie de burro conejo, rinocerontes... Lo que más me gustó fueron unos monos que vimos, eran monísimos y tenían un hairstyle very cool. Fue muy divertido.

Hola a todos los seguidores, hoy quiero hacerles partícipes de un nuevo espacio de nuestro blog, "Do you know what?" donde iremos contando cosas que vamos descubriendo acerca de esta fantástica isla llamada Irlanda. Ahora les dejo con el Do you know What? de Isabel que se nos ha vuelto una "Geógrafa".

Do you know What?

Ireland is the third largest island in Europe and the twentieth largest island in the world. It lies to the North-West of continental Europe and is surrounded by hundreds of tiny islands called islets. To the east of Ireland is the island o Great Britain, separated from it by the Irish Sea.

The Republic of Ireland covers five sixths of the island. Northern Ireland, a part of the United kingdom, covers the remainder and is located in the northeast of the island.

The population of Ireland is estimated to be 6.2 millions. A lot!! 4.5 millions are estimated to live in the Republic of Ireland and 1.8 millions are estimated to live in the Northern Ireland.

¿Sabes qué?

Irlanda es la tercera isla más larga de Europa??? y la 20 en todo el mundo. Esta se encuentra el Noroeste del continente Europeo y rodeada por pequeñas islas. Al Este de Irlanda nos encontramos cómo no!!! a Gran Bretaña, que está separada de ésta por el mar Irish. La República de Irlanda cubre la 5/6 parte de la isla. El Norte de Irlanda pertenece a Reino Unido.

La población de Irlanda se estima alrededor de los 6.2 millones de habitantes. Muchiiiissiiimos no? de los cuales 4.5 viven en la república de Irlanda y 1.8 viven al Norte de la misma.

Hello my name is Ana Díaz, I was here in Ireland last year. I'm in the same family as last year: the parent's name are Mike and Teresa and they have two girls, their name are Emily, who is 15 years old, and Grannie ,who is 12, and we also have a dog too whose name is Charlie.

I wake up every day at 7:30 to take the 45 bus at 8 o'clock. I'm going to the same school as last year, Rockford Manor, I am in the class 2O with five more Spanish girls. In the school, the lessons are so boring and long, the best thing is the lunch time where you find out what is in your pack lunch, and you see what the people of my class are doing.

When school is over (3:30) I have to run to my bus stop to get the bus at 3:40. When I get home I do my homework and have dinner at 6 o'clock then I have a shower, I watch TV and go to bed.

Hola me llamo Ana Díaz, ya estuve el año pasado escribiendo en este blog así que soy veterana. He vuelto a la misma familia: los padres se llaman Mike y Teresa; las niñas se llaman Emily de 15 años y Grainne de 12, también hay un perro que se llama Charlie.

Todos los días me levanto a las 7:30 para coger la guagua número 45 a las 8 de la mañana. Voy al colegio Rockford Manor, como el año pasado, estoy en la clase 2O con 5 españolas más. Las clases son un poco aburridas y se hacen eternas porque son tres asignaturas de media hora o más antes de cada recreo. Lo mejor son los recreos (yupiiiii) porque miras lo que te han puesto en el pack lunch y observas a las irlandesas de tu clase, que por cierto son muy brutas ups!. Cuando acaba el cole a las 3:30 tengo que correr hacia la parada de guagua para cogerla a la 3:40, cuando llego a casa hago los deberes, ceno a las 6:30 y me ducho. Después tomo el postre viendo la tele y cuando termino me voy a la cama.

Today was our second day in our Irish school. As normal I woke up at quarter past seven, the mother of the house, Jenny, told me that she was going to bring me to school because it was about to rain. I had some cereal for breakfast and went to school by car. On the way to school she told me where to get the bus and where to get off. When I got to school I went to my locker to get the books I needed for the three next classes. At the break I ate an orange. Then I went back to my locker to get the next three classes. At lunch time a Spanish girl came to the school, she is staying for four months and we welcomed her and ate with her. Today I had a delicious lunch, a kit Kat, two rolls with salami with olive oil, a banana and a yogurt. I only had three more classes after lunch but when we were in the first one, the principal said that we were finishing at three and not at twenty to four. When we finished school I went walking to the bus stop to get the number 45. When I was on the bus by a mistake I got off the bus one bus stop before so I had to walk, But it wasn't that far, when I got to the bus stop I had to get   off Jenny was waiting for me in the car to bring me home. I went upstairs to my room to do my little piece of homework. Later, the oldest girl came to say to me that her cousin was there so I told her that when I finished my homework ,I will go downstairs to play with them. We played a game called "the game of live ", then we had dinner and we watched a movie called "only you" we didn't finished it but the piece that I saw was great. That was my day; I still have lots of days left to improve my English.

Hoy es nuestro segundo día de colegio irlandés. Como es normal me he levantado a las 7 y cuarto, al despertarme la madre de la casa, Jenny, me ha dicho que hoy era mejor que me llevase al colegio en coche porque estaba lloviendo. Desayuné unos cereales con leche y Jenny me llevó al colegio explicándome por el camino dónde tenía que coger la parada de vuelta. Cuando llegué al colegio fui a la taquilla para coger los libros de las tres primeras clases que tenía. En el recreo no me dió tiempo a tomarme la naranja entera ya que sólo son 10 minutos, volví a la taquilla a por los libros de las siguientes tres clases y me fui al aula a la que tenía que ir. A la hora de comer llegó una niña española al colegio y le dimos todas la bienvenida comiendo con ella. Hoy tuve de comer dos bocadillos buenísimos de salami con aceite, un plátano y un yogurt. Ya solo me quedaban tres clases por la tarde cuando en la primera clase el director dijo por megafonía que hoy acabábamos el colegio a las tres. A la salida del colegio tuve que ir a la parada de guagua caminando y por una confusión me bajé en una parada antes de la mía por lo que tuve que caminar hasta la siguiente, donde Jenny me esperaba para ir a la casa porque estaba lloviendo un poco. Cuando llegué a la casa subí a mi cuarto para hacer los deberes. Luego la niña mayor vino a mi cuarto y me dijo que estaba su prima en casa que si quería jugar con ellas y yo le dije que sí. Jugamos a un juego de mesa sobre la vida. Cenamos a las cinco y media y luego vimos una película llamada “Only you “, muy divertida por cierto.

Este ha sido mi día en Irlanda, me quedan todavía bastantes pero espero aprovecharlos al máximo hablando mucho con todo el mundo.
