Domingo en los Cliff of Moher

Cliff of Moher.
Our fantastic team of spanish and italian tutors (Belinda & Luis from Las Palmas the Gran Canaria and Chiara & Pietro from Milano)  have decided to explore a part of Ireland every Sunday, our day-off .
This Sunday we chose Galway, a nice city in the  West coast, two hours by car from Dublin.
We experienced the authentic Irish weather: rainy and windy all the morning. We found a warm place to recover from the cold and wet weather ouside, then we decided to go to the Cliffs of Moher, one more hour by car. We enjoyed the amazing landscape driving, because the weather was getting better, and finally we arrived at our destination.
We couldn’t believe  what we were seeing: steep cliffs that plunge into the sea, waves crashing on the rocks, blue sky with white fluffy clouds.. and the wind was so rough that we could barely stand.
We climbed over the fence and started to walk through the soft grass ruffled by the wind, until we reached the edge. Carefully lying on the grass with our head sticking out the edge we looked down and saw the water rushing beneath us.. It was astonishing!
We crossed the meadows and took some pictures with cows and horses grazing all around, then we kept walking on the top of the cliffs and the wild landscape took our breath away.
Finally we reached the O’Brien’s tower on the very top of the cliffs.

After that we had a look at the souvenirs’ store and took a funny picture of Belinda in her ‘trekking suit’.
Before going home we had a typical Irish dinner in a little restaurant on the way back: vegetarian soup and Irish beef with potatoes, with some brown bread and butter.
Three hours later we were at home, tired, almost asleep but amused and happy.
